Last round in our Demo Derby show yesterday with three bands. Maybe I start getting bored with these demo bands, didn’t find anything new, maybe the winner sounded a bit better, and probably a studio version would be better than live. The winner was The Elephants. Sounds promising. today is the final in front of a jury (labels, reviewers…), let’s see who wins.
The gate of the festival area officially opened at 5pm, the concert opening the big Orange scene was the Danish band “Magtens Korridorer“. But my first concert was at the electronic stage: the radio soulwax crew. Started at 8pm and I planned to see Toumani Diabaté and Sigur Ros afterwards but it lasted until midnight, so I couldn’t make it for these latter artists. First, Dj Justice put the dancefloor on fire with some good vinyl rockets; then came Soulwax, am not a big fan so I took a break; then DJ Justice came back with some more burning dancefloor tunes and finally 2 many Dj’s made the all tent turned into a volcano, that was pure madness. Had not dance that long for a while. They played many tracks from Daft Punk which makes me dance like crazy each time.
One funny thing is that people left the concert after an hour to attend Guns n’ Roses, “shame on you, treators!!”. The GnR concert was apparently immensely bad despite the fireworks.
The program for me today should be Fat Freddy’s Drop, Rufus Wainwright, Wir Sind Helden, Death Cab for Cutie and the Five Corners Quintet…let’s see how it goes
